Chandigarh, December 8: While the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is dedicated to the interests of other classes, it is fully committed to protecting the interests of Scheduled Castes. Working in this direction, Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur stated that the Scheduled Caste certificate of Raj Kumar alias Raju, son of Jai Prakash, resident of Railway Basti Guru Har Sahai Ferozepur, has been declared fake by the Scrutiny Committee at the state level and orders have been issued to cancel it.
Providing more information, Dr. Baljit Kaur mentioned that Charandas, son of Bakshi Ram, resident of village Jeewan, Tehsil Guru Har Sahai District Ferozepur, lodged a complaint with the Chairman of the Scheduled Caste Commission. The complaint stated that Raj Kumar alias Raju, resident of Railway Basti Guru Har Sahai Ferozepur, had made a fake Scheduled Caste certificate, based on which he is taking the benefits available to Scheduled Castes.
Dr. Baljit Kaur said that the state-level scrutiny committee after a thorough investigation into the matter found that Raju was born in Bihar and belonged to the general category (Sharma), but he has made a fake certificate of his scheduled caste. She said that the state level scrutiny committee has confirmed that the scheduled caste certificate of Raj Kumar alias Raju is fake and has decided to cancel it.
The Minister informed that the Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minority Department have written to the Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur for the cancellation/confiscation of the concerned Scheduled Caste Certificate No. 3422/SC dated 17.12.2012 (issued by Tehsildar Rajpura) and sought information about the action taken.
