Punjab Police’s Jalandhar Counter Intelligence Wing has busted an ISI-backed espionage network operating in the state. During the operation, Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukha, a resident of Ferozepur, was arrested and identified as a key operative of the module.

According to the investigation, the accused and his associates were installing solar-powered CCTV cameras at multiple locations. These cameras were allegedly being used to monitor sensitive areas, especially sites linked to the Indian Army.

Police further revealed that the CCTV systems were equipped with 4G connectivity, enabling live footage to be transmitted via mobile applications to handlers based in Pakistan. During the operation, China-made solar CCTV equipment was also recovered from Kapurthala, which was being used for surveillance purposes.

An FIR in the case has been registered at the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC), Amritsar. Police have now intensified investigations to identify other members involved and to dismantle the full extent of the network.
