The CIA team of Jhajjar district has arrested a Delhi resident with 4.04 kg of ganja as part of its ongoing crackdown on narcotics trafficking. The accused has been identified as Ravi, a resident of Madanpur Dabas in Delhi.
According to police, the CIA team was patrolling in the jurisdiction of Sadar Jhajjar police station when it received specific information that Ravi was allegedly involved in the illegal sale of ganja and was standing near Rasalwala Chowk on the Bahadurgarh side.
Acting on the tip-off, a police team led by Sub-Inspector Mukesh Kumar of CIA Jhajjar reached the spot. The suspect was found carrying a plastic sack and was detained for questioning. A search of the sack was conducted in the presence of a gazetted officer as per legal procedures.
During the search, police recovered a narcotic substance, which was later identified as ganja. Upon weighing, the seized contraband was found to be 4 kg and 40 grams.
A case was registered against the accused under the relevant provisions of the law, and he was produced before a court. CIA Jhajjar In-charge Inspector Anil Kumar said the accused was taken on a one-day police remand for interrogation.
After the completion of the remand period, Ravi was again produced before the court, which remanded him to judicial custody. Police said further investigation into the case is underway.
