PEDA organizes state level energy conservation award ceremony

 As per the visionary thinking of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, as part of the efforts being made to encourage energy consumers towards energy conservation and energy efficiency, Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) presented State Level Energy Conservation Award today at CII, Chandigarh. The ceremony was conducted.

 Punjab Sports and Youth Services Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer distributed the awards to those facilities/units which have made concerted efforts for efficient use, management and conservation of energy in the last two years in the state.

 On this occasion,  Meet Hayer said that human beings are responsible for misusing natural resources for their personal gains and now the time has come when we all together make energy conservation efforts to save the environment for the coming generations. be part. He also appreciated PEDA for taking various initiatives by the concerned departments, industries and institutions to promote energy efficiency and energy conservation in different areas of the state.

 PEDA Chairman S. H.S. Hanspal invited people to adopt renewable energy sources and use electricity judiciously by adopting energy conservation and energy efficiency measures to bridge the gap between demand and supply of electricity.

 CEO of PEDA Dr. Amarpal Singh appreciated the award winners for making concerted efforts to manage and conserve energy in their business units and organizations. He also stressed the need to create awareness among people on a large scale to protect the environment. He informed that the State Bio-Fuel Policy and Green Hydrogen Policy will soon be brought by the Department of New and Renewable Energy Sources headed by Cabinet Minister Shri Aman Arora.

Apart from this, in Pulp and Paper, M/s Quantum Papers Limited, Sela Khurd, Tehsil Garhshankar (Hoshiarpur) won the first prize and M/s Khanna Paper Mills Limited, Amritsar won the second prize.In the Medium Scale Manufacturing Enterprise category, M/s Eastman Wood & Forge Limited, Ludhiana won the first prize and M/s T.K. Steelz Ludhiana won the second prize. In small scale, M/s Forge Auto International, Ludhiana won the first prize and M/s Gardacus Industries, Jalandhar won the second prize. Similarly, in large scale, M/s Mahendra & Mahendra, Mohali won the first prize and M/s Patiala Locomotive Works (P.L.W.), Patiala won the second prize. Under the category of commercial buildings, M/s Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Jalandhar got the first position and M/s Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Hoshiarpur got the second position in Offices-Government and Private Buildings. Along with this, among educational institutions - government and private buildings, Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College, Fatehgarh Sahib won the first prize and M/s Chitkara University, Rajpura won the second prize.
