An Orange Alert has been issued for July 2 in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Kangra districts. On July 3, the alert will remain in effect for Una, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla and Sirmaur, while Kangra, Mandi and Shimla will remain under Orange Alert on July 4, with the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places.
The IMD has also issued Yellow Alerts for heavy rainfall in several districts. On July 1, Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra and Mandi are likely to receive heavy rain. On July 2, Chamba, Mandi and Sirmaur are expected to be affected, followed by Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra and Solan on July 3, and Una, Hamirpur and Kullu on July 4.
According to the Meteorological Centre in Shimla, the monsoon has already covered most parts of Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti, Shimla, Mandi, Sirmaur and Kangra, while Kinnaur and a few remaining districts are yet to be fully covered. Weather conditions are expected to remain favourable for the monsoon to advance into Chamba, Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Solan over the next two to three days.
With an active monsoon phase expected, widespread rainfall is forecast across the lower and mid-hill regions of Himachal Pradesh between July 1 and July 4, prompting authorities to advise residents to remain alert for possible landslides, flash floods and travel disruptions.
