A tragic road accident in Haryana’s Yamunanagar claimed the lives of a newlywed bride and her sister-in-law on Tuesday morning, while the groom sustained serious injuries. The incident took place in Jagadhri’s Ganganagar Colony, leaving the entire area in shock and mourning.

According to information, Shivkumar, a resident of Ganganagar Colony, had married 25-year-old Khushboo on April 29. On Tuesday morning, Khushboo, Shivkumar, and his sister Pooja left home to visit the Panchmukhi Hanuman Temple on a motorcycle. Family members said Khushboo had suggested postponing the temple visit until next Tuesday, but Shivkumar and Pooja decided to go ahead with the plan.

Pooja, originally from Itora village in Uttar Pradesh’s Mau district, had been staying with her brother after her marriage. As the trio reached near the Manakpur Industrial Area, a bus belonging to Maharishi Markandeshwar University reportedly hit their bike from behind.

The collision was so severe that Khushboo and Pooja died on the spot, while Shivkumar suffered critical injuries. He was rushed to the Civil Hospital in Yamunanagar for treatment.

Eyewitnesses claimed that despite repeated calls, an ambulance did not arrive on time. Locals eventually shifted the injured using a private vehicle.

The bus driver stated that the vehicle lost balance at the time of the accident. He also claimed that around 15 children were travelling in the bus. However, local residents alleged that the bus is frequently driven at high speed and that complaints regarding rash driving had been made to the school management several times earlier, but no action was taken.
