A woman who was allegedly sexually assaulted in Panipat has died during treatment at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Rohtak. She had been admitted to the hospital after complaining of chest pain.
The case is linked to the CT scan centre at Panipat Civil Hospital, where a hospital security guard was allegedly involved in the sexual assault. Following a complaint from the woman's family, police had registered an FIR at City Police Station and launched an investigation.
As the woman's condition deteriorated, she was referred to PGI Rohtak for treatment. She died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Police have intensified the investigation following her death and are working to collect further evidence in the case. Efforts are also underway to trace and arrest the accused security guard.
The incident has raised serious concerns over the safety of women seeking treatment at public healthcare facilities, with the victim's family demanding strict action against the accused.
