Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated the people of India after the country recorded an economic growth rate of 7.8 percent, describing the achievement as the result of the nation’s collective strength, determination, and hard work.
Sharing a video on Instagram, Modi said the strong growth performance was a matter of pride for every Indian. He credited the achievement to the resolve and dedication of the country’s citizens, emphasizing that India has continued to progress despite challenging global conditions.
Prime Minister noted that many parts of the world are currently facing wars, conflicts, and economic disruptions. He pointed out that global supply chains have been affected and that stability has not fully returned even after the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite these challenges, he said, India has maintained a strong growth trajectory and emerged as one of the fastest-growing major economies.
Modi also remarked that while India is moving forward by overcoming international challenges, some people within the country are attempting to spread pessimism and misinformation. He said that India’s 7.8 percent growth rate demonstrates the nation’s resilience and economic strength in the face of adversity.
Calling for sustained efforts to maintain the momentum, the Prime Minister said the country must continue accelerating its development journey. He urged citizens to promote self-reliance and support the domestic economy by prioritizing indigenous products and reducing unnecessary spending abroad.
Modi also appealed to people to avoid unnecessary foreign travel and overseas weddings, and advised restraint in purchasing gold unless required. He said that greater emphasis on “Vocal for Local” and self-reliance would further strengthen India’s economic foundation and contribute to long-term national growth.
