Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday reached Kashi (Varanasi) on a two-day visit. He arrived at Babatpur airport by helicopter and later reached BHEL (Barauni) guest house for rest. In the evening, around 5 PM, he attended the Jan Aakrosh Mahila Sammelan held at BHEL, where he walked through the crowd of women before reaching the stage and addressed them.

In his speech, PM Modi targeted opposition parties, saying that some “dynastic parties” are afraid of Nari Shakti (women power) and do not want women to reach assemblies and Parliament. He said such parties fear that if more women enter politics, their traditional political systems will collapse. He added that the BJP and NDA believe in the principle of “respect for women power” and “Nagrik Devo Bhava” (citizens are like gods).

The Prime Minister urged women to actively participate in the mission of building a developed India and contribute significantly to national progress.

Modi also said that for a long time in India, women were neglected and often not even consulted in decision-making. He noted that this situation was not limited to Kashi but was common across the country. Recalling his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister about 25 years ago, he said he had resolved to change this mindset and introduced several initiatives to promote girls’ education so that more daughters could attend school.

He added that since 2014, when the people of India gave him the opportunity to serve, the country has been progressing rapidly on the path of development.
