A tragic road accident near Rakseda village in Haryana’s Panipat district claimed the lives of an eight-month pregnant woman and her unborn child after a sand-laden dumper allegedly rammed into a motorcycle from behind.

The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Preeti, a resident of Hathwala village. Her husband, Sandeep Jangra, sustained serious injuries in the accident and is currently undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital.

According to reports, the couple was travelling to Ganaur for medical treatment when the speeding dumper struck their bike near Rakseda village. The impact of the collision was so severe that Preeti was thrown several feet away and reportedly came under the wheels of the dumper, leading to her death on the spot. Doctors also confirmed the death of the unborn baby.

After the accident, the dumper driver fled the scene. Police have launched an investigation and efforts are underway to trace the accused driver and vehicle.

The incident sparked anger among local villagers, who expressed strong resentment against the administration over rising incidents of reckless driving and poor road safety measures in the area.
