In a major step towards making healthcare services more accessible and citizen-friendly, the State Health Agency (SHA), Punjab, has enabled beneficiaries of the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana (MMSY) to download their health cards digitally through the official portal.
The new facility eliminates the need for eligible beneficiaries to visit centres solely to obtain a copy of their health card. Once the required e-KYC verification and photograph authentication are completed, beneficiaries can access, download, and save the card on their mobile phones or print it for future use.
To download the card, beneficiaries need to locate their family record using their Family ID, Health Card Number, Mobile Number, or Aadhaar Number, complete OTP-based authentication, and then download the verified health card in PDF format.
Officials have advised beneficiaries to complete their photograph-based e-KYC before downloading the card, as authentication remains mandatory for availing benefits under the scheme.
The digital health card initiative is part of Punjab’s flagship Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana, which provides cashless medical treatment coverage of up to ₹10 lakh per family annually. The move is expected to reduce paperwork, minimize unnecessary visits, and ensure quicker access to healthcare services.
Beneficiaries can securely store the card on their phones, print copies for records, share them with family members when needed, and present them while availing eligible healthcare services.
SHA Punjab has urged citizens to use only the official portal for downloading health cards and not share OTPs with anyone to avoid fraud.
