Punjab Government has provided loans along with subsidies amounting to ₹1.52 crore to 71 beneficiaries during the financial year 2026-27 so far under various schemes of the Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development and Finance Corporation.
Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur shared this information, highlighting the government's efforts to strengthen economically weaker and disadvantaged sections of society.
Dr. Baljit Kaur said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the state government is committed to ensuring equal opportunities for growth and development. She said the schemes aim to provide financial assistance to eligible beneficiaries, promote self-employment and help them become financially independent.
The minister emphasized that financial assistance plays an important role in helping families establish sustainable sources of income and improve their standard of living. She added that the government's objective extends beyond providing monetary support to building confidence among beneficiaries and enabling them to create better futures for themselves and their families.
Dr. Baljit Kaur further said that various schemes implemented through the Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development and Finance Corporation are creating economic opportunities for members of the Scheduled Castes community.
She reiterated that inclusive development and the financial empowerment of needy families remain key priorities of the Punjab Government, adding that such initiatives are intended to support beneficiaries in moving towards greater economic stability and self-reliance.
