Punjab Cabinet Minister for Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities, Dr Baljit Kaur, said that the Punjab Government has provided self-employment loans worth ₹4.82 crore to 139 beneficiaries belonging to the Backward Classes to help them establish their own ventures and strengthen their livelihoods.

The minister said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the state government is implementing welfare-oriented policies aimed at ensuring equal opportunities for all sections of society. She added that promoting self-employment and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for needy families remain key priorities of the government.

Dr Baljit Kaur said that self-employment schemes are encouraging beneficiaries to utilise their skills and capabilities to establish independent businesses and income-generating ventures. The objective, she said, is not limited to providing financial assistance but also to empower people to improve their family income and contribute to the state's economic growth.

She further stated that such initiatives are helping beneficiaries improve their standard of living while providing them with opportunities to transform their skills into sustainable sources of income.

Appealing to eligible citizens, the Cabinet Minister urged them to take maximum advantage of the self-employment and other welfare schemes being implemented by the state government.

She said that greater public participation would help ensure that the benefits of government initiatives reach every deserving family and contribute to the vision of a prosperous and self-reliant Rangla Punjab.
