With the support of the Punjab Government, the religious theatrical production ‘Hamare Ram’ will now be staged across 12 cities in Punjab, with the first performance scheduled for August 7 at Amity University, Mohali.
According to the announced schedule, a total of 41 shows will be organised across the state. The cities included in the tour are Mohali, Bathinda, Ferozepur, Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Pathankot, Amritsar, Patiala, Khanna, Ludhiana, and Sangrur.
Free passes for audience
The government has decided to provide free entry passes for the performances. Viewers will be able to book their passes through BookMyShow and the Sanatan Seva Samiti.
Strong response from youth audience
Punjab Heritage and Tourism Promotion Board Chairman Deepak Bali said that the show has received an overwhelming response, and the government faced considerable difficulty in securing performance dates due to high demand.
He informed that the first two days of performances will be held in Mohali, and the organisers have selected some of the best auditoriums available for the production.
Bali added that the play will present all major episodes of the Ramayana, covering every significant Kand in a grand theatrical format. He also highlighted that nearly 65 percent of the audience attending the show consists of young people, indicating a growing interest among the youth in religious and cultural productions.
The statewide tour is expected to become one of Punjab’s largest cultural theatre initiatives focused on the Ramayana and Indian spiritual heritage.
