Punjab likely to receive light showers; relief from humid weather expected

The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Chandigarh, has forecast light to moderate rainfall in various parts of Punjab on Friday (September 25) and over the next few days. According to the latest weather data and forecast maps, scattered showers are likely across the state, bringing relief from the prevailing humid weather.

The weather department has not issued any heavy rainfall warning or alert for Punjab. However, the expected rainfall is likely to bring down temperatures and improve weather conditions in several districts.

Meanwhile, Punjab recorded a slight decline of 0.6 degrees Celsius in its average maximum temperature over the past 24 hours. Faridkot remained the hottest place in the state with a maximum temperature of 37.2 degrees Celsius.

Among other major cities, Chandigarh recorded a maximum temperature of 35.1°C, Bathinda 35.2°C, Ludhiana 34.2°C, and Patiala 34.0°C.

Meteorologists expect the upcoming showers to provide much-needed relief from the lingering heat and humidity, while weather conditions are likely to remain generally pleasant in the coming days.
