Punjab Police on Wednesday conducted raids at 567 locations identified and mapped as associates of gangsters across the state as part of its ongoing War Against Gangsters campaign.

Launched on January 20, 2026, by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, the campaign is being conducted in coordination with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) and district police teams to make Punjab a gangster-free state.

On the 225th day of the campaign, police arrested 185 persons and recovered one weapon, taking the total number of arrests since the launch of the drive to 67,390. Preventive action was also taken against 236 individuals, while one absconding criminal was arrested during the operation.

Punjab Police urged people to confidentially share information about wanted criminals and gangsters through the Anti-Gangster Helpline 93946-93946 and report information related to crime and criminal activities.

Meanwhile, the police’s anti-drug campaign, ‘Yudh Nasheyan Virudh’ (War Against Drugs), also continued for its 550th day. Police arrested 108 drug traffickers, recovering 756 grams of heroin, 331 intoxicating tablets and ₹3,540 in drug money.

With these arrests, the total number of drug traffickers arrested under the campaign in 550 days has reached 76,909. As part of its de-addiction initiative, police also persuaded 15 individuals to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment.
