Rainfall affected several parts of Haryana on Thursday, with showers reported in Hisar, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Rewari, leading to waterlogging, traffic disruptions, and other incidents across the affected districts.
House collapses in Rewari village
In Kuhad village of Rewari district, a house collapsed following the rainfall. Two people were injured after being trapped under the debris — Jyoti (28), the daughter-in-law of villager Omprakash, and her 7-year-old nephew. Family members managed to remove the debris and rescue both injured persons.
Traffic chaos in Gurugram
Heavy rain and waterlogging caused severe traffic congestion on the National Highway near Manesar in Gurugram. In Sector 55, several vehicles, including a school bus, were stranded due to accumulated rainwater.
In view of the situation, Gurugram Police issued a work-from-home advisory, urging corporate offices and private establishments to allow as many employees as possible to work from home to reduce traffic pressure and ensure public safety.
Waterlogging reported in Hisar and Rewari
Authorities also reported waterlogging in parts of Hisar and Rewari, causing inconvenience to residents and disrupting normal movement in low-lying areas.
IMD warns of heavy rain in 14 districts
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Chandigarh Centre, 14 districts of Haryana are likely to receive heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds. These districts include:
Fatehabad, Hisar, Hansi, Jind, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Rohtak, Jhajjar, Mahendragarh, Rewari, Gurugram, Nuh, Faridabad, Palwal
Weather department has advised residents in vulnerable areas to remain alert as further heavy rain activity is expected during the day.
