Security agencies in Punjab have achieved a major breakthrough in the Shambhu railway track blast case in Patiala. In a joint operation by SSOC Amritsar, Patiala Police, and CI Pathankot, Gurjinder Singh alias Baba Beant has been arrested. He is considered a key associate in the case and is a resident of Dhariwal in Gurdaspur district.
Links to Multiple Explosions and Grenade Attack Uncovered
Preliminary investigations reveal that the accused is not only linked to the Shambhu blast but also to the Sirhind railway track explosion and the grenade attack on the CIA office in Moga. According to investigating agencies, these incidents were allegedly carried out under the directions of foreign handlers aiming to destabilize the state.
Police Claim All Three Terror Cases Solved
Officials stated that with this arrest and earlier recoveries, three major terror-related cases—linked to Moga, Sirhind, and Shambhu—have been successfully solved. Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said the operation reflects the vigilance and efficiency of the state’s security forces.

The DGP emphasized that maintaining peace, security, and law and order remains a top priority. He reiterated that strict and continuous action will be taken to dismantle terror networks at their roots.
