Sukhchain Singh, a soldier from Kuttabad village in Haryana’s Sirsa district, was martyred while serving in Jammu and Kashmir. He laid down his life in the line of duty while protecting the nation.
According to information, Sukhchain Singh was posted in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, where he was killed while on duty. His mortal remains will be brought from Rajouri to Sirsa and then taken to his native village, Kuttabad, on Friday.
His last rites are expected to be performed at around noon with full state honours. Preparations for the final farewell have been made in the village.
Officials at the Sainik Board office confirmed that information had been received about the martyrdom of a soldier.
Kuttabad village sarpanch Beant Singh said the entire village stands firmly with the martyr’s family during this difficult hour. He added that all necessary arrangements have been made for the soldier’s final rites.
