The excitement among movie lovers for Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta’s upcoming period drama has reached new heights as the makers have officially announced the film’s title and release date. Earlier known as Lahore 1947, the film will now be released under the official title Batwara 1947.
Aamir Khan Productions revealed that the film will hit theatres on August 14, 2026, just ahead of India’s Independence Day celebrations. Announcing the release on social media, the makers wrote, “In an atmosphere of hatred and fear, they chose the path of courage. Watch Batwara in cinemas from August 14, 2026.”
Set against the backdrop of the Partition of India and Pakistan, Batwara 1947 is expected to portray the emotional and human cost of one of history’s most painful events. The film promises a gripping narrative filled with powerful emotions and historical significance.
The release date announcement was accompanied by a moving teaser that has already generated widespread attention. The teaser features Sunny Deol holding a blazing torch, while Preity Zinta and other cast members appear with expressions of fear and uncertainty,
