Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a special gift during his visit to Italy, sharing a light-hearted post on social media that quickly grabbed attention online.
Meloni revealed that PM Modi gifted her India’s famous “Melody” toffee and jokingly thanked him for the sweet surprise. In her post, she wrote, “Thank you for the gift,” adding with humor that the Indian Prime Minister brought her a “very, very good candy — Melody.”
The cheerful exchange between the two leaders came during PM Modi’s visit to Italy, where both leaders held discussions over dinner on several key global and bilateral issues aimed at strengthening India-Italy ties.
After the meeting, the two leaders also visited Rome’s iconic Colosseum, one of the world’s most historic landmarks. Pictures from the visit have gone viral on social media, highlighting the warm chemistry between the two leaders.
Earlier, welcoming PM Modi to Rome, Meloni had posted on social media, “Welcome to Rome, my friend,” reflecting the growing friendship and diplomatic closeness between India and Italy.
