The name of gangster Anil Pandit, who is reportedly based in the United States, has once again come into the spotlight following a firing incident targeting actor Tiger Shroff's car in Mumbai's Juhu area on Sunday evening.
An audio clip has since surfaced in which Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu allegedly claim responsibility for the attack. In the same recording, Pandit threatens Bollywood actor Salman Khan, demanding that he apologise to Lawrence Bishnoi and the Bishnoi community. He warns that Salman Khan and his family could face serious consequences if he fails to comply.
The audio clip also contains threats against other members of the film industry who work with Salman Khan. However, Mumbai Police have not yet confirmed whether the gang was behind the firing incident. The case has been transferred from Juhu Police Station to the Mumbai Crime Branch for further investigation.
Anil Pandit’s Name Surfaced in Panipat Firing Case
Anil Pandit's name had previously emerged in connection with a firing incident in Haryana. In March 2026, unidentified assailants opened fire at a money exchange office in Panipat in broad daylight.
At the time, individuals claiming links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang took responsibility for the attack through social media messages. The names of Anil Pandit and Randeep Malik, both reportedly based abroad, surfaced in connection with the claim. Singer-rapper Badshah was also threatened.
According to the details of the Panipat incident, three motorcycle-borne assailants fired seven rounds at Hast Forex, located on Assandh Road. Police arrested three accused in March who allegedly confessed to carrying out the attack on the instructions of people based overseas. Another accused, suspected of facilitating contact between the local attackers and the foreign-based gangsters, was subsequently arrested.
Investigators reportedly found that the attackers had been paid ₹65,000 to carry out the firing.
Anil Pandit Allegedly Joined Gang After Reaching US
Anil Pandit, a native of Panipat in Haryana, reportedly reached the United States in 2024 through the so-called 'donkey route', an illegal migration channel. According to sources, no criminal case had been registered against him before he left India.
After reaching the US, he allegedly became associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Around eight months ago, he reportedly took over responsibilities previously handled by another gang member, Randeep Malik. Several cases were subsequently registered against him, according to reports.
Alleged Network Linked to Harry Boxer
According to information about the gang's network, Anil Pandit is not believed to be in direct contact with Lawrence Bishnoi. Instead, he allegedly receives instructions from Hari Chand Jat, also known as Harry Boxer.
Harry Boxer has reportedly been operating his network from the United States since 2022. Cases involving allegations of extortion, robbery and attempted murder have been registered against him in Rajasthan, Punjab and Delhi.
The Panipat firing investigation also indicated that local youths were allegedly recruited to carry out attacks on the instructions of individuals operating from abroad. Haryana Police had additionally arrested Anil Pandit's mother and brother in separate cases last year. His mother was granted bail a few months ago.
Salman Khan Threatened Over Blackbuck Case
In the audio clip that surfaced after the firing incident involving Tiger Shroff's car, the speaker identified as Anil Pandit allegedly claims that he and Harman Sandhu carried out the attack because Tiger Shroff did not heed their warnings.
The recording also contains a threat that anyone working with Salman Khan would be killed. Salman Khan has faced threats linked to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, an issue that has been associated with resentment expressed by members of the Bishnoi community and threats attributed to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
The authenticity of the audio clip and the claims of responsibility remain to be established by investigators. Mumbai Police have not officially confirmed the alleged gang's involvement in the Juhu firing, and the Crime Branch is investigating the case.
