UT gives exepmtion to some categories from night curfew

CHANDIGARH: The UT administraton has exempted certain categories from the night curfew starting today from 6M to 5 AM including police personnel and government employees tasked with Covid-19 duties.

An order issued by the Chandigarh administration said that marriages are allowed if permission is taken from the Deputy Commissioner and gathering shall not exceed 50 persons. The marraige organisers however would need permission from the authorities.

The manufacturing units of essential commodities shall be allowed to remain open. The hotels and restaurants would be allowed to open till 9 PM for home delivery. The restuarent and delivery staff is allowed with I-cards.The hospitals, chemist shops and ATMs will remain open during night curfew.

Inter-state and intra-state movement of essential and non-essential items is allowed. All vehicles and persons in bobafide transit will be allowed to pass through city after due cerification of point of origin and destination. People coming and going to railways station, airports and bus terminal can move with travel tickets.

Meanwhile, UT police department has restricted entry to police headquarter in sector 9. People will be allowed only after taking prior appointment. Manoj Menna SP headquarter said that pass window will issue passes only after verifying the letter issued by concerned official.
