Verka, the flagship brand of Milkfed Punjab, has recorded a turnover of ₹551 crore in June 2026, registering a 14.79% year-on-year growth compared to ₹480 crore during the corresponding month last year.

Punjab Government attributed the strong performance to increased milk procurement, expansion of processing capacity and rising demand for value-added dairy products under its cooperative dairy development initiatives.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said the ₹71-crore increase in turnover reflects the growing strength of Punjab's cooperative dairy sector and the increasing consumer trust in the Verka brand. He added that Milkfed Punjab's performance aligns with the government's vision of strengthening cooperative institutions while improving the economic well-being of dairy farmers across the state.

Chief Minister said milk procurement increased by nearly two lakh litres per day in June, recording around 11% growth over the previous year. He noted that the growth rate is almost double the national average of 5-6%, highlighting the rapid progress of Punjab's cooperative dairy movement.

Verka also registered impressive growth across several value-added dairy products during the month. Table Butter sales surged by 94%, UHT Cream by 213%, UHT Milk by 20%, Ice Cream by 22%, Tetra Pack Lassi by 30%, Ghee by 41%, and Dairy Whitener by 58%, indicating strong consumer demand for the brand's expanding product portfolio.

Mann said the growth was driven by a better product mix, improved market execution and increasing consumer preference for Verka's premium dairy products. He reiterated that the Punjab Government will continue investing in dairy infrastructure, technology adoption, product innovation, cold-chain expansion and market development to further strengthen Milkfed.

Describing the cooperative dairy sector as a key driver of rural prosperity, employment generation and farmer empowerment, the Chief Minister congratulated Milkfed's management, employees, cooperative societies and lakhs of milk producers for contributing to the organisation's record performance.

He reaffirmed the government's commitment to expanding milk procurement, modernising processing facilities and strengthening market reach to boost farmers' incomes, reinforce Verka's leadership in the Indian dairy market and ensure consumers continue receiving safe, nutritious and high-quality dairy products.
