A 32-year-old farmer was allegedly beaten to death with a brick during a late-night dispute while drinking with friends in a cattle shed in Bhaproda village of Bahadurgarh, Jhajjar district on Monday night. Another youth was injured in the incident and is undergoing treatment at World Medical College, Jhajjar.
The deceased has been identified as Ombir (32), son of Preet, a resident of Bhaproda village. According to police, Ombir was engaged in farming in the village.
Police said that on Monday night, Ombir was sitting with a few villagers at the cattle shed of Ravi, son of Bijender, where they were consuming alcohol. During the gathering, an argument reportedly broke out among those present.
As the dispute escalated, one of the men allegedly struck Ombir on the head with a brick. He suffered severe head injuries, collapsed on the spot in a pool of blood, and died there before any medical help could reach him.
Investigators also recovered the brick allegedly used in the attack from the scene.
Another villager, Amit, was injured during the scuffle. Family members and local residents rushed him to World Medical College in Jhajjar, where he is currently receiving treatment.
The accused fled the spot immediately after the incident. Police said the identity of the attacker has not yet been confirmed.
Asauda police station has registered a case and started an investigation. Officials are questioning those who were present at the cattle shed and examining all possible angles related to the dispute that led to the fatal attack.
