Former cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s father and actor Yograj Singh has landed in legal trouble after a case was registered against him in Chandigarh over allegedly objectionable remarks about women.
According to reports, a clip circulating on social media shows allegedly offensive comments made by the actor during a web series. The video has sparked widespread criticism, prompting two lawyers to file a complaint against him. Acting on the complaint, police have registered an FIR in the case.
The controversy stems from a dialogue in the Hindi web series, which has been objected to for its alleged derogatory reference to women. The viral clip has further intensified public outrage on social media.
Meanwhile, the Punjab State Commission for Women has also taken cognizance of the matter. The Commission has written to Punjab Police, urging a senior-level investigation into the incident. It has also demanded strict action against Yograj Singh and others involved in the case.
