NIA arrests key accused in FICN racket case

NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday said it has arrested one of the key accused, a resident of Malda in West Bengal, involved in the high quality Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) racket case.

An NIA spokesperson said that it arrested Tausif Alam alias Bulu Seikh in connection with FICN case of Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, it registered in April this year.

NEW DELHI: The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi shall dedicate to the nation the historic Kosi Rail Mahasetu (mega bridge) to the Nation through video-conference at 12 Noon on the 18th of September 2020.

Apart from this the Prime Minister shall also inaugurate 12 rail projects related to passenger facilities for the benefit of the Bihar State. These include a new railway bridge on the Kiul River, two new railway lines, 5 Electrification projects, one Electric Locomotive Shed and 3rd Line Project between Barh-Bakhtiyarpur.

18 persons killed in lightning strikes in Bihar

PATNA: At least 18 persons were killed in lightning strikes in 10 districts of Bihar on Tuesday, even as the Meteorological Department cautioned people not to move about in open places due to fear of lightning and heavy rain in the next 24 hours.

Lightning detection centres have been established in Madhubani, Katihar, and Gaya. Teams from the state disaster management authority have been asked to remain on standby.

NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Tourism has launched the Swadesh Darshan Scheme for Integrated Development of theme-based Tourist Circuits for development of tourism infrastructure including last mile connectivity in the country. Recognizing the potential of rural tourism in the country, the Ministry has identified Rural Circuit as one of fifteen thematic circuits identified for development under this scheme.

NEW DELHI: To promote agricultural research and education, and to make the country self- reliant in the agriculture sector, DARE/ICAR has developed a country wide network of 103 Agricultural Research Institutes, 75 Agricultural Universities including 3 Central Agricultural Universities and 11 Agriculture Technology Application Research Institutes ably supported by a network of Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) at the district level mandated with technology assessment and demonstration for wider application and capacity development. The institutes are developing and promoting high yielding varieties and technologies for higher production, reducing farm input (manpower, seed, fertilizer and water) and improving the income of farmers.

Delhi Police rescue 14 children, arrest 10 traffickers

NEW DEHLI: The railway unit of the Delhi Police has rescued 14 children trafficked from different districts of Bihar to Delhi and arrested 10 people, officials said on Wednesday.

The rescued children, who are in the age group of 12-14 years, have been taken to a quarantine centre in south Delhi's Lajpat Nagar.
