Cotton crop loss compensated with Rs 87.95 crores - CM

33,483 farmers of the state benefited from the compensation - Nayab Singh

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that the E- Kshatipurti Portal has been opened till March 15,2024 for crop losses due to recent hailstorm during the current Rabi season. Farmers can upload their crop loss due to hailstorm on the portal.
The Chief Minister released a compensation amount of Rs 87.95 crores to farmers of 12 districts affected by cotton crop damage due to floods during the year 2023. These districts include Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Fatehabad, Gurugram, Hisar, Jhajjar, Jind, Mahendragarh, Rewari, Rohtak, Sirsa, and Sonipat. Minister Sh. JP Dalal was also present on this occasion.
He stated that the government has provided compensation for cotton crops damaged due to floods during the year 2023. In this way, the government is committed to helping farmers, and many decisions have been taken in the interest of farmers before, he added.
The Chief Minister said that during the year 2023, registration of 2,43,287 acres of land affected by floods was done to claim compensation for damaged cotton crops. After verification, crop loss of 84,483 acres of land has been confirmed, which has been uploaded by farmers on the E- Kshatipurti Portal. After verification, compensation is being given to 33,483 farmers of the state.
The Chief Minister said that compensation of Rs 130 crores and 88 lakhs for other crops damaged due to floods during the year 2023 has already been issued by the government. Thus, farmers have been compensated with Rs 218 crores and 83 lakhs during the year 2023.
