Maharana Pratap Horticultural University awarded the Best Horticulture University Award

In recognition of the remarkable advancements in horticulture, Maharana Pratap Horticultural University (MHU), Karnal, has been honored with the prestigious Best Horticulture University Award nationwide. This accolade was bestowed by 'Krishi Vyapaar Shikhar Sammelan and Puraskar' at an event in Hyderabad, underscoring MHU's exemplary contributions to the field.

Sharing information in this regard, a University spokesperson said that MHU is working on important research in the field of horticulture on fruits, vegetables, flowers, and medicinal plants. The university is committed to fulfilling the needs of the state. In the past years, the university has conducted research to develop many new technologies, whose positive outcomes have now starting coming.

The spokesperson said that the biggest achievement in recent times has been in research on biological micro-organisms. MHU has identified many good microbial-related bio-inputs. These can be successfully used in the field of horticulture to produce safe and quality crops. For example, their use will reduce the need for chemical fertilisers by 20 to 25 percent in the fields. Due to these achievements, the ‘Krishi Vyapaar Shikhar Sammelan and Puraskar Sanstha’ have honoured MHU by awarding it the Best Horticulture University Award.

The entire team of MHU is continuously striving to reach the advanced technologies used in the field of horticulture to the farmers and the main objective of MHU is to boost quality production. As a result, farmers' incomes rise at less cost, and they become economically affluent, the spokesperson added.

The spokesperson stated that there is a growing trend among farmers towards horticulture farming, which will benefit the coming generations. He urged the farmers to contact the scientists of MHU for horticulture-related problems for resolution.
