LONDON: The unidentified miscreants on Wednesday set on fire a popular Sikh temple and a mosquoe in English city of Leeds United Kingdom on fire. Police suspect it a hate crime.
The famous Sikh temple Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha Gurdwara in Lady Pit lane in the city was attacked alongwithJama Masjid Abu Huraira Mosque in Hardy street, Beston, BBC reports.
The report said that miscreants burnt the main doot of Mosque at around 3.45 AM and then set the door of Gurdawara on fire. The bottle of petrol was found near the gate of the Gurdwara and a smoke alrm went on. Residents called Fire Brigade and Police.
Detective Inspector Richard Holmes of Leeds said that they were investigating the incidents as arson and hate crimes. The ivestigation is at very early stage, he said. Those responsible for the act would be brought to justice, police officil said. Extra police has been deployed in the area.
