CHANDIGARH: About 220 persons who had purchased residential plots in Sherwood Officers Society in Mohali way back in 2010-11 are running from pillar to post to get back their hard earned money since the society has failed to deliver the plots even after eight years.

The housing societry floated by Parampal Singh Sidhu former IPS who retired as Inspector General of Police in Punjab and one serving IAS and a PCS officers had invited applications for allotment of residential plots even as they had not obtained Change of Land Use (CLU) from GAMADA and nor they had purchased minimum required land of 25 acres.

Most of the investors included retired and government employees, doctors, journalists and businessmen who had seen dream to own theor home near Mohali. The Sherwood society had purchased 12 acres of land in sector 113 of Mhali on Landran-Chunni road. The RKM Housing Managing Director Kanwaljit Singh Ahluwalia had issued fresh allotment letters to the members withour completing the formalities of CLU. The plots were never delivered to allottees even as RKM demanded to deposit more money.

Satkar Singh and Vishal Gupta who claimed repersenting the 200 allottees on Sunday at a press conference said that Mohali Police was not registering their FIR though the had met the SSP many times. The police officials are expressing helplessness due to involvement of senior police officers in the scam and also their political connections. Bhatia said that Sherwood Society abd RKM Housing in criminal conspiracy cheated members of Rs.44 crores deposited with them. He said that now none of them is ready to take responsibility. The Sherwood and RKM Housing office bearers are so influential that they are not bothered about court summons. In one case filed by an allottee the coonsumer court has issued non-bauilable warrants for not returning money. The police has failed to execute the non-bailable warrants.

The victims of Housing scam have demanded to register FIR againat the accused officers and confiscate their properties. They also demanded to refund the amount paid by them. They said that even GAMADA has written to police to register a FIR but police has ignored the letter.
