While presiding over 'Sarkar gaon ke Dwar' programme at Bada Bhanjaal in Gagret assembly constituency of district Una today, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that the objective of this programme was to resolve the grievances of the people at their very door step and to reach out to the last person in the row. He said that the obsolete laws were being changed so that there was no hindrance to the people while working on the modalities for reaping the benefits of the schemes of the Government.
The Chief Minister announced office of the Deputy Superintendent of Police to be opened in Gagret, a sum of Rs. 50 lakh for the stadium at Banjhaal and up-gradation of Community Health Centre at Daulatpur to Civil hospital. He also stated that upon availability of the land, a college would be opened at Gagret. He said that discussions were being done with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) for setting up Rs 175 crore ethanol plant at Jeetpur-Behri under Gagret assembly constituency.
The government took a decision to hold special Revenue Lok Adalats to dispose off long pending revenue cases of the people. "We are committed to the welfare of the people of the State and to resolve their grievances", he said, adding that so far 65 thousand cases of mutation and more than four thousand cases of partition were disposed off through these Lok Adalats throughout the State. In Una district, 3713 mutation cases and 1107 pending cases of partition were disposed off in these Lok Adalats.
To give relief to those, whose houses were completely or partially damaged due to heavy rains during the monsoons, an assistance amount of Rs 4.10 crore has been distributed to the affected families in Una district. As per reports 55 houses in the district were completely damaged during the disaster, while 298 houses were damaged partially.
Referring to the Chief Minister Sukh Ashraya Yojna, Sh. Sukhu said that financial assistance of Rs 25.18 lakh has been provided to 238 children of the state, in Una district. The present state government made a law, the first of its kind in the country, wherein the government will provide care to the orphans till they achieve 27 years of age, assist them to pursue higher education and to make them self-reliant. Apart from this, under Dr.Yashwant Singh Parmar Student Loan Scheme, one percent interest will be charged upto the loan amount of Rs 20 lakh to students for pursuing higher education, reiterated the Chief Minister.
He said that the Government was going to provide 21000 jobs in government sector. Besides this, the Rs. 680 crore Rajeev Gandhi Start-up Yojna will also serve as an employment generator for thousands of youth of the State with provisions of subsidy.
While opposing the Agniveer Scheme of the Union Government, the Chief Minister said 75 percent of the Agniveers would be sent back home after four years of service that include training for six months followed by 3.5 years of deployment. He said that as of now, many youth feel cheated, as they will be sent back to home after four years of service and will also cross the age bar to seek another job elsewhere.
Due to mismanagement of finances by the previous BJP government, the per capita debt has reached Rs 1.02 lakh. When the Congress Party formed the government in Himachal Pradesh, there was no money, not even enough to meet the government's expenses. Despite this, the state government is trying to make Himachal Pradesh self-reliant from its own resources, he said. Despite financial constraints we restored the OPS. "We never thought, that the State which was reeling under financial instability already, will witness the 'Disaster of the Decade' " said Sh. Sukhu, adding that despite all this, we didn't received a single penny in the form of financial assistance from the Union Government nor the BJP leaders supported the cause. MLA Sudarshan Bablu, former Minister Kuldeep Kumar, Advocate General Anup Ratan, District Una Congress President Ranjit Singh Rana, retired Chief Secretary (Uttarakhand) Rakesh Sharma and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
