Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann campaigned for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Pawan Kumar Tinu in Jalandhar on Friday evening. Mann led a road show in various areas of Jalandhar city and appealed to the people to make Pawan Tinu win by a huge margin.
While addressing the people during the road show, Bhagwant Mann made a scathing attack on MP Sushil Rinku who left AAP and joined the BJP. He said that Aam Aadmi Party made him an MP and gave him national recognition, but due to greed and selfishness, he betrayed the party and the people of Jalandhar. Mann appealed to the people of Jalandhar to teach a lesson to those who betrayed Punjab and make sure that he even loses his security deposit.
He said that the Aam Aadmi Party is a party of common people. This party gives people from common households a chance to become MPs, MLAs, ministers and chief minister. We are also common people like you. We understand your pain and suffering very well. So make Aam Aadmi Party candidates win. They will become your voice in Parliament and fight for your rights.
Mann said that in this election we are asking for your votes on the basis of our work of the last two years. If you liked our work then vote for us. He said that we have done so much work in Punjab in just two years that the previous governments did not do in 70 years.
We are giving 300 units of free electricity every month to everyone in Punjab. Today, 90 percent of the houses in Punjab are getting zero electricity bills. At the same time, 850 Aam Aadmi Clinics are functioning and 43000 youth from common households were given government jobs purely on the basis of merit. He said that I pray to God every day that I do not sign any such file which extinguishes the fire of any house in Punjab.
During his speech, Chief Minister Mann also attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that Modi is creating communal tension in the country with his statements. He said that it is very unfortunate for the country that after being the Prime Minister for 10 years, Prime Minister Modi is asking for votes in the name of caste, religion and mangalsutra.
