Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh, December 14 :
Haryana's Higher Education Minister Moolchand Sharma said that the main objective of the New Education Policy-2020 is to 'make India a global knowledge superpower ' . He said that the aim of State Chief Manohar Lal is to implement this policy by 2025. Moolchand Sharma said this during the meeting of the State Level Implementation Committee on National Education Policy-2020.
He said that today India is making new systems according to the needs of the 21st century and the National Education Policy-2020 has been made keeping in mind the five pillars of access, equity, quality, capability and accountability. The National Education Policy is an inclusive and inspirational policy, which aims to reform and transform the education system in India. The new policy reflects a shift from employability to entrepreneurship and it seeks to promote job creators rather than job seekers.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had done the work of giving direction to the new National Education Policy-2020. Understanding the importance of the National Education Policy, Chief Minister has set a target to implement this policy in the entire state by the year 2025 instead of the year 2030. Inclusion of areas like Artificial Intelligence, 3-D machines, data-analysis, biotechnology etc. in graduate education will produce skilled professionals in cutting-edge fields and will increase the employability of the youth.
Sharma said that the New Education Policy-2020 was implemented in the state on August 30, 2021. One of its goals is to increase the gross enrollment ratio of girls in higher education to more than 50 percent by the year 2030. Haryana state is far ahead in this direction also. Our gross enrollment ratio of girls is 32 percent. We will achieve the target of 50 percent much before 2030.
