The "War Against Drugs" campaign will continue until drugs and drug peddlers are completely eliminated. This was made clear by Cabinet Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar during a special meeting with civil and police officials in Faridkot district today as part of the ongoing campaign. Faridkot MLA Sh. Gurdit Singh Sehkhon and Jaito MLA Sh. Amolak Singh were also present at the meeting.

Bhullar stated that under the leadership of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Police have been given full freedom to take strict legal action against anti-social elements involved in the drug trade and to work towards a drug-free society. He warned drug smugglers to immediately stop their illegal activities and surrender.

He further emphasized the role of de-addiction and rehabilitation centres, which are proving beneficial for the proper treatment and reintegration of drug addicts into society. The Minister also appealed to village panchayats to socially boycott drug smugglers and their supporters and pass resolutions in this regard. He stressed that cooperation from all sections of society is essential to build a social movement against drugs.
