As the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections draw closer, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched an extensive grassroots outreach campaign to connect with voters and showcase the state government's achievements.
The party has instructed its MLAs and constituency in-charges to remain active in their respective areas over the next two months by organizing continuous Lok Milnis (public interaction meetings) and presenting the government's report card to residents.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has already been holding public meetings across the state, while Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, Water Resources Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal, and several other ministers have also begun public interaction programmes in their constituencies.
AAP has reportedly set a target for its prospective candidates to conduct three Lok Milnis every day. These meetings are intended not only to highlight government schemes and development works but also to gather direct feedback from residents regarding local issues and expectations.
The party aims to reach every village and major urban ward in each Assembly constituency by August 15, making the campaign one of its biggest grassroots initiatives before the next state elections.
Within the party, the exercise is being viewed as the beginning of its 2027 election preparations. Sources indicate that MLAs and constituency in-charges considered potential candidates may receive financial support through the Rangla Punjab Fund to accelerate development projects in their areas.
It is understood that development works worth up to ₹10 crore per Assembly constituency are being planned to ensure visible progress before the polls. Party leadership has also advised its representatives to spend maximum time in their constituencies over the next two months and avoid unnecessary travel outside their areas.
