In a significant political development ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections, three Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs have joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The legislators who have switched sides include Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, MLA from Amritsar North, Chetan Singh Jouramajra, MLA from Samana, and Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, MLA from Sanaur.
All three legislators resigned from the AAP over the past two days. While Jouramajra and Pathanmajra submitted their resignations on Sunday, Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh quit the party on Monday.
Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh has also resigned from his membership of the Punjab Legislative Assembly, adding another significant dimension to the political developments in the state.
The latest defections mark a major political development in Punjab ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections, with the BJP set to gain three former AAP legislators.
