Punjabnewsline, Chandigarh:
In the wake of recent terror attacks in Rajouri, Kathua and Doda, the Punjab Police has tightened security arrangements. The border districts are on high alert. The Special DGP (Law and Order) has deployed additional forces in the strategically important Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran and Ferozepur districts. This heightened state of alert is aimed at preventing any malicious activity and ensuring the safety of the residents of the region. High-level security coordination meetings have been convened between district police officials, Border Security Force (BSF), Indian Army and various intelligence agencies. These meetings have been crucial for sharing critical intelligence and operational strategies, maintaining robust security and fostering a collaborative approach to effectively respond to potential threats.
A coordinated anti-tunneling and search operation was carried out along the international border on June 14 morning. The operation was completed by a joint cordon and search operation (CASO) with BSF at village Simbal Sakol located on the zero line. Around 300 personnel participated in the exercise and under the supervision of senior officers underlined the commitment of the security forces to maintain the integrity of the border and prevent infiltration attempts. Punjab Police, in collaboration with BSF, Army and intelligence agencies, is committed to ensuring the highest level of security and vigilance in the border districts. The coordinated efforts, advanced training modules and strong community engagement initiatives are designed to ensure the safety of citizens and effectively thwart any terrorism-related activities.
