AMRITSAR: Giani Raghbir Singh Jathedar of Akal Takht today took serious note of the incident of attack and desecration of Granthi Singh who was sitting on the tabya of Sri Guru Granth Sahib inside the Gurdwara Sahib in Sill village near Mohali.
Jathedr said in a statement that instead of hoping only from the government, the Gurdwara Management Committees of the villages, towns and the Sangats themselves should take care of the Guru-Ghars.
Akal Takhat Jathedar said that the Granthi Singhs who serve the Tabiya of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji also need to be armed and watch carefully.
He said in a strong tone that even village Gurdwara Committees cannot be freed from their responsibility for the incidents of indecency.
