A heartbreaking scene unfolded at Bargi Dam as rescue teams recovered the bodies of a mother and her young son, locked in a final embrace. Both were wearing life jackets, and the child remained tightly held against his mother’s chest—an image that has left onlookers shaken and moved.

Eyewitnesses at the site, as well as people viewing the visuals on social media, described the moment as deeply distressing. The image has come to symbolize a mother’s enduring love, as she held onto her child even in her final moments during the tragic incident.

According to officials, the accident occurred on Thursday evening when a cruise boat carrying passengers was caught in a sudden storm. Strong winds and high waves caused the vessel to lose balance and capsize. Despite passengers reportedly urging the crew to steer the boat toward the shore, their calls went unheard amid the chaos.

Rescue operations have been ongoing under challenging conditions, with teams battling rough waters and strong currents. A video from the site shows a group of four to five rescuers working tirelessly to retrieve bodies from the dam.

So far, nine bodies have been recovered, while 28 people have been rescued. Six individuals are still missing. Authorities confirmed that a total of 43 people were on board the cruise, including passengers and crew members.

The tragic incident has sparked widespread grief, with the image of the mother and child standing as a poignant reminder of love and loss in the face of disaster.
