Punjab Newsline | Bathinda

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is currently in Bathinda, where he is leading a massive roadshow alongside Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal.

The high-profile visit is being seen as a major political outreach ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections, aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots presence in the region.

Arvind Kejriwal, addressing a rally in Bathinda, announced that Bhagwant Mann will continue as the party’s chief ministerial face for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections. He said the party will contest the upcoming polls under Mann’s leadership.

Kejriwal urged party workers to intensify preparations for the elections and take the government’s achievements to the public. He also stated that the Punjab government has completed four years in office and claimed that public sentiment reflects satisfaction with its performance.

He further said that earlier governments were associated with public anger and dissatisfaction, whereas people now appear to appreciate the current administration’s work.

Referring to the 2022 Assembly elections, Kejriwal recalled his visit to Bathinda, saying locals had informed him about the so-called “Jojos tax” system. He claimed that such practices have now been eliminated and that there is no corruption or exploitation in the state.

He asserted that under Bhagwant Mann’s leadership, the government in Punjab is functioning with honesty and a focus on public welfare.
