Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is scheduled to meet President Droupadi Murmu on May 5, after being granted an official appointment. The Chief Minister confirmed the development, stating that the meeting will focus on concerns surrounding the nomination of five members to the Rajya Sabha.

According to sources, Mann had requested time to discuss the legal and constitutional aspects of the recent nominations. The issue has raised questions about the process and its broader implications, prompting the Punjab government to escalate the matter to the highest constitutional authority.

The Chief Minister had sought a brief 10–15 minute meeting slot, which has now been approved. During the interaction, he is expected to present the state’s position and seek clarity or possible intervention from the President’s office.
