Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) proposed national organisational reshuffle has brought several leaders from Haryana into focus, with the party expected to balance organisational experience, political influence, younger faces and greater representation for women.

The BJP’s decision to appoint Dr Archana Gupta as Haryana BJP president in May has already highlighted the party’s focus on women’s leadership in the state. This approach could also influence the composition of the party’s new national team, with speculation that Haryana may get representation through a relatively new or younger face.

Among the most prominent names being discussed is Om Prakash Dhankar, who currently serves as BJP national secretary, according to sources. Dhankar has remained active in organisational programs across several states and has considerable experience in party organisation and election-related work.

Union Minister of State Rao Inderjit Singh has significant political influence, particularly in south Haryana. However, his recent expression of reservations before the BJP national president in Gurugram could weigh against the possibility of him receiving a key organisational position at the national level.

Krishan Pal Gurjar, Union Minister of State, is another prominent Haryana leader who could be considered. His long association with the party and broad acceptability within the BJP make him a potential candidate for a larger responsibility.

Former Haryana BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli, who is currently chairman of the Haryana State Public Enterprises Bureau, is also among the leaders who could be considered. His organisational experience could work in his favour if the party seeks experienced state-level leaders for national responsibilities.

Former MP Dr Sudha Yadav is another important name in the discussion. As a member of the BJP Parliamentary Board, one of the party’s highest decision-making bodies, she already holds a significant national position. The party could consider assigning her an additional or expanded responsibility in the new organisational structure.

Former Sirsa MP Sunita Duggal, who was considered a strong contender for the Haryana BJP president’s post, has now been appointed vice-president in Dr Archana Gupta’s state team. Her organisational experience and political profile could also make her a contender for a national-level assignment.

Rajya Sabha MP and former Haryana BJP president Subhash Barala brings extensive organisational experience to the table. His tenure as state president coincided with a crucial period of the BJP’s expansion in Haryana. His continued activity in national politics could strengthen his case for a larger organisational role.

Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Bhatia is also among the possible names. He has represented Haryana in the Rajya Sabha since April 2026 and has considerable experience in electoral and organisational affairs.

Former Haryana minister Captain Abhimanyu, who has previously held an important national-level organisational responsibility in the BJP, could also come under consideration.

Meanwhile, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma could strengthen the party’s women-centric representation from Haryana. As a former chairperson of the National Commission for Women, she brings substantial national-level experience on issues related to women and public policy.

Final composition of the BJP’s national team is expected to reflect the party’s organisational priorities as well as regional and political considerations. Haryana, with several experienced leaders across different political and organisational profiles, is therefore likely to remain an important state to watch during the reshuffle.
