Panic gripped Jalandhar on Thursday morning after Apeejay School received a bomb threat email around 9:30 AM, warning of an explosion on the campus. The school administration immediately informed the police, following which security teams rushed to the spot and evacuated the entire premises as a precautionary measure.

All students were safely dismissed and sent home to avoid any untoward incident. According to reports, this is the third bomb threat received by the school within the last two months.

The threat comes on a day when Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is in Jalandhar, where high security arrangements are already in place. Despite tightened security, the threatening email raised serious concerns among authorities and residents.

The development follows recent security incidents in Punjab, including blasts near BSF Chowk in Jalandhar and outside an Army area in Amritsar earlier this week. The state has also been witnessing repeated bomb threat messages in recent weeks.

Parents expressed concern and confusion after receiving sudden messages from the school regarding early dismissal. Some parents said they received phone calls informing them that classes had been suspended due to security reasons, while others received messages asking them to pick up their children by 10 AM.

Police teams and security agencies are currently investigating the threat and conducting a thorough search of the school premises.
