400 sports nurseries will be established in the year 2024-25-Chief Minister
Cash awards worth Rs 92 crore given to 692 players during 2023-24 – CM

he Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that it is a matter of great pride that sportspersons from our state have played a key role in country’s upsurge in the international sports arena in recent times. He said that the state government to allocate Rs.578.18 crore to the sports sector for FY 2024-25 which is an increase of 33.84 percent over the revised estimate Rs.432.01 crore of the current year.
The CM while presenting the budget for the year 2024-25 in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha today, said that during 2023-24, cash awards of Rs.92 crores were distributed among 692 players based on their achievements in various sports events.
He stated that Khelo India Para Games-2023 were organised in December at New Delhi for 07 games.183 players from Haryana participated in the games and got 105 medals, with Haryana at 1st position.
The Chief Minister said that the state government to set up 400 Sports Nurseries in FY 2024-25, in addition to the 1100 Sports Nurseries allotted last year. Two High Performance Centres in Boxing and Wrestling will be established in Panipat and Sonipat respectively in 2024-25. These High Performance Centres will be named after prominent sportspersons in the discipline who have brought laurels to the State in the past. He said that speed climbing is one of the new sports events to be included in the Paris Olympic Games 2024.
The Chief Minister said that the state government to construct speed climbing facilities at 6 places, namely Karnal, Bhiwani, Hisar, Faridabad, Narnaul, and Panchkula.
