Several roads in Chandigarh will witness traffic diversions on Sunday from 5 AM to 9:30 AM in view of a marathon. The Chandigarh Traffic Police has issued an advisory, urging commuters to avoid affected stretches, use alternative routes to reach their destinations and follow the instructions of traffic personnel.
According to the traffic police, the marathon route will begin at the Capitol Complex in Sector 1 and pass through High Court Chowk, Old Barricade Chowk, Sukhna Lake, Hira Singh Chowk, Punjab Lok Bhawan Road, Kishangarh Turn, St. Kabir Light Point and Shastri Nagar Light Point. The route will continue through Kishangarh Chowk, Lalit Hotel and IT Park Light Point.
Traffic restrictions and diversions will be implemented along these stretches during the event. Traffic movement will be regulated on the road connecting Capitol Complex in Sector 1 to High Court Chowk, the stretch from Old Barricade Chowk towards Sukhna Lake, the route from Hira Singh Chowk via Punjab Lok Bhawan Road to Kishangarh Turn, and the stretch between St. Kabir Light Point and Shastri Nagar Light Point.
Commuters travelling near Kishangarh Chowk, Lalit Hotel and IT Park Light Point have also been advised to follow traffic arrangements and instructions issued by the police.

The traffic police has appealed to residents to plan their journeys in advance on Sunday morning and avoid the affected roads wherever possible to prevent inconvenience and delays.
