Tension flared in Faridkot on Tuesday morning during the municipal elections after a heated argument broke out between workers of the Aam Aadmi Party and a local BJP leader over alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct.

AAP MLA from Faridkot, Gurdit Singh Sekhon, confronted BJP leader Sunny Brar on a public road, accusing him of misusing military-linked machinery to influence voters during polling.

According to AAP leaders, an “Army school bus” allegedly operating under the influence of the BJP leader was being used to transport voters directly to polling booths, which they claimed was a serious violation of election rules.

A video of the incident has also surfaced online, showing a tense confrontation between both sides beside a bus parked in the middle of the road. AAP supporters were seen raising slogans and demanding action, while Sunny Brar was engaged in a verbal exchange with party workers. The altercation reportedly led to a temporary traffic disruption in the area.

Sekhon and other opposition leaders demanded immediate intervention from election observers and called for the seizure of any unauthorized vehicles allegedly being used to influence voters during the municipal council elections.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Sunny Brar denied all allegations and said he had no role in transporting voters to polling stations. He claimed that he was merely standing near the bus and was being falsely targeted for political reasons.
