Punjab has witnessed a major milestone in public education as 416 government schools recorded a perfect 100 percent result in the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) Class 12 examinations under the Bhagwant Mann government’s ‘Sikhya Kranti’ initiative.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday praised Punjab’s daughters for leading the state’s educational transformation after three students — Supneet Kaur from Mansa, Suhani Chauhan from Ludhiana and Divyanshi from Ludhiana — secured a perfect score of 500 out of 500 marks in the board examinations.
In a significant boost to public confidence in government education, 122 out of 275 students featured in the merit list are from government schools, reflecting the impact of infrastructure upgrades, smart classrooms and focused academic reforms introduced by the Punjab Government.

The Chief Minister honoured the three toppers with cash prizes of ₹50,000 each for their outstanding achievement. During his interaction with the students, Bhagwant Mann said it was a matter of pride that all three toppers are also national and state-level sportspersons, proving that Punjab’s youth are excelling in every field.
“All the toppers belong to humble backgrounds and want to achieve success through hard work and dedication. The Punjab Government will fully support them in fulfilling their dreams,” the Chief Minister said.

Highlighting the performance of girls in the examinations, Bhagwant Mann said girls have once again outperformed boys not only in academics but across all sectors. He stated that the results clearly show there is no comparison to the talent, intelligence and dedication of Punjab’s daughters.
Calling it the real empowerment of women, the Chief Minister said the achievement marks a new beginning for the socio-economic progress of girls and the overall development of Punjab.
Sharing details of the results, Bhagwant Mann said nearly 2.65 lakh students appeared for the examinations, out of which around 2.42 lakh students passed, taking the overall pass percentage to 91.46 percent.

The pass percentage among girls stood at 94.73 percent, while boys recorded 88.52 percent. Amritsar district registered the highest pass percentage in the state at 96 percent, while Patiala district produced the highest number of merit holders with 59 students.
Continuing the trend of previous years, girls dominated the merit list, with 217 girls among the total 278 merit holders, compared to 61 boys.
The Chief Minister said more than half of the merit holders — 122 students — are from government schools, which reflects the improving standards of public education in Punjab.
During the interaction, one of the toppers expressed her dream of becoming a pilot in the Indian Air Force. Encouraging her, Bhagwant Mann advised girls aspiring to join the Armed Forces to enrol in the Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute for Girls at SAS Nagar, Mohali, stating that the institute is delivering exceptional results and creating new opportunities for young women in the defence sector.
