Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann launched a sharp attack on old political parties, accusing them of misusing religion for political gains and running a sustained false propaganda campaign against his government.
He said these parties were unable to digest both the passage of the historic “Jaagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Sanshodhan Adhiniyam-2026” and the fact that a common man’s son is running the government in Punjab smoothly.
Addressing a large public gathering during a ‘Lok Milni’ event in Bihala village of Chabbewal Assembly constituency, the Chief Minister thanked the people for their overwhelming support, respect and blessings. He said that the massive public turnout reflected the people’s strong faith in the policies and intentions of the state government.
The event witnessed an extraordinary response, with thousands of people gathering not only inside the pandal but also on rooftops, balconies and verandas of nearby houses to listen to the Chief Minister. Residents welcomed him with loud applause and slogans throughout the program.
On the occasion, villagers also honoured Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in recognition of his public welfare initiatives and presented him with a sword (Sri Sahib) as a mark of respect.
Expressing gratitude, the Chief Minister said such immense affection strengthens his resolve to work day and night for the welfare, progress and prosperity of Punjab and its people.
