Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday handed over regularisation letters to 517 employees of the Forest and Wildlife Preservation Department, declaring them permanent government employees entitled to all government service benefits.
Speaking at a function in Mohali, Mann said the employees should have been regularised 15–20 years ago, but previous governments failed to address their concerns. He accused earlier administrations of prioritising political and family interests over the welfare of government employees and their families.

Chief Minister said the state government is also working to regularise employees in other departments. He acknowledged that some cases have been delayed due to ongoing court proceedings but assured that government teams are actively working to resolve the legal hurdles as quickly as possible.
Mann also announced a statewide plantation campaign to mark the 650th Prakash Purab of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji, under which 6.5 lakh saplings will be planted in every district of Punjab. He said the government has prepared a comprehensive plan for the initiative.
Additionally, the Chief Minister announced that all Forest Department guest houses across the state will be renovated and upgraded with modern facilities. He said the guest house near Chohal Dam, which has already been refurbished, will serve as the model for similar upgrades at other locations.
